About Axis Direct

Axis Direct is the retail broking brand of Axis Securities Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axis Bank, offering a 3-in-1 account that links banking, demat and trading under a single login. It is registered with SEBI, is a depository participant, and gives access to equity, F&O, currency and commodity segments on NSE, BSE and MCX, alongside mutual funds, IPOs, bonds and unlisted shares.

Unlike pure discount brokers, Axis Direct runs on a tiered subscription model: the default Prosperity plan carries no upfront fee but higher per-trade brokerage (0.50% delivery, 0.05% intraday and futures, subject to a ₹25 minimum per order), while paid plans — from ₹999 up to ₹9,999 plus GST, one-time and valid for life — step brokerage down as low as 0.07% on delivery. Equity options currently carry a flat ₹10 per executed order under Axis Direct's ongoing pricing offer. The trade-off for the higher per-trade cost is a wider bundle: branch-based support, dedicated dealer assistance, in-house research and an extended-tenure E-Margin facility that isn't typical of no-frills discount brokers.

Pros & cons

What users like

  • Seamless 3-in-1 integration with Axis Bank — banking, demat and trading in one account and login
  • Wide product range: equity, F&O, currency, commodity, mutual funds, IPOs, bonds and unlisted shares
  • Multiple platforms — mobile, web and a professional desktop terminal — plus in-house research and dedicated relationship-manager support
  • Unique E-Margin facility lets you carry delivery positions with margin for up to 240 days

What to watch for

  • Default plan brokerage (0.50% delivery, min ₹25/order) is high next to discount brokers unless you pay upfront for a lower-brokerage plan
  • Recurring demat AMC (₹750/year after year one) instead of a lifetime-free structure
  • Call & Trade and several account-service actions carry charges beyond a free monthly quota
  • Mobile app ratings on the Play Store (around 3.6/5) trail several newer discount-broker apps
