About Paytm Money
Paytm Money Ltd was incorporated in 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm. It started as a direct mutual fund investing platform before expanding into equity trading, F&O, IPOs, ETFs, NPS and Bonds. It is registered with SEBI as a stockbroker and Research Analyst, is a depository participant with CDSL, a member of NSE and BSE, and a PFRDA-registered NPS ePOP — operating as a separate SEBI-regulated entity, independent of Paytm Payments Bank.
Paytm Money's standout feature is T+5 PayLater, letting intraday traders hold leveraged positions for up to 5 trading days without a forced square-off — a feature no other major Indian discount broker offers. Combined with WealthBasket curated portfolios and NPS/Bonds investing alongside stocks and mutual funds, it's positioned as an all-in-one wealth app rather than a pure trading terminal. The trade-off is no commodity or currency trading, no NRI accounts, and a ₹100 Call & Trade charge that is the highest among major discount brokers.
